The Climate Change Research Center studies the chemical and dynamical environment of the Earth’s atmosphere using
sophisticated observational and modeling tools. Its research is focused on understanding the fundamental properties of the atmosphere and how they have
been affected by human activities and will continue to be so in the future.

The Complex Systems Research Center is dedicated to understanding the Earth as an
integrative system. Through a combination of field studies, space-based observations, data integration, and modeling, the Center
pursues interdisciplinary studies of global environmental change from both scientific and policy perspectives

The LBA-ECO is part of LBA, the largest cooperative international scientific project
ever to study the interaction between the Amazon Forest and the regional and global atmospheres. The LBA-ECO Science Team is pursuing an integrated approach
involving synthesis of past results and data sets, modeling, remote sensing, Geographic Information System (GIS)-based analyses, new field observations and process studies,
training and education and synthesis and integration of new results in order to tackle the LBA-ECO science question..
